Appointment FAQs

Can I bring my own design?

We are passionate about making quality, unique tattoos which exceed customers’ expectations. We usually aim to meet in the middle with your tattoo ideas and specifications, joined with our experience and personal artistic style. If you want to get involved in the process then please draw, paint, sculpt or take photos. Feel free to bring some reference to show us something similar to what you would like but please do not ask us to copy other artists work. You deserve to have a one off tattoo just as much as anyone else. It is also worth pointing out that some images might work on paper but not on skin. We are also very happy to draw you something from a simple description.

How do I go about booking in?

We can give some ballpark quotes and rough ideas of availability by email. If your tattoo design needs significant preparatory drawing we may need to see you first to take measurements and rough out some thumbnail sketches. There is no charge or obligation for this initial consultation. You will however need to pay a £50 deposit to go on our drawing list or to make any tattoo appointments. The deposit will be subtracted from your final payment. This can be done over the phone or in person card payment preferred. Some tattoo ideas can be booked straight in after this if we allow enough time for drawing on the day. Deposits for drawing are non refundable and 48 hours notice is required to secure a refund on any appointment made.

When’s good for you?

The shop hours are 11am to 7pm, Tuesday to Saturday. Other times are occasionally available on request. If you have some particular days in mind please telephone the tattoo studio to talk it over as we can end up emailing back and forth while the diary
gets filled up!

How much will it cost?

Our minimum charge is £50. This would cover a simple tattoo design that would fit under a golf ball. All tattoos are charged at £100 per hour for Yan / Katie £60 per hour and Daniel £60 per hour so size, detail and number of colours are the main factors for pricing.

Do I need to bring anything?

You could bring some sweets or a drink if you like although refreshments are available here. If you have an all day tattoo appointment then a midday snack would be a good idea.

Is there anything I need to do or not do?

Before your appointment, there are a few things you need to know to make your tattoo experience run as smoothly as possible.

Please keep the area that will be tattooed protected from the sun and please do not use sunbeds. A suntan will make your skin thick and leathery, subsequently making it much more difficult to do a good job. Peeling skin will make the tattoo impossible and sunburn will make it very painful! Remember, the sun will fade tattoos, a strong sunblock will protect your investment.

If you are planning a trip to a hot country before or within six months of your tattoo, you need to move your appointment with us. The same goes for training, swim races or jacuzzi parties, no problem, just give us a call and we’ll shift things around. You must give us 48 hours notice to keep your deposit.

You need plenty of energy to get tattooed, so please eat well and rest up the night before. Drinking alcohol, working the graveyard shift, getting stoned or generally burning the midnight oil will not put you in the right mental or physical state for a tattoo. Even residual alcohol from the night before or a little “dutch courage” will make you bleed or possibly pass out. Not too much caffeine either please, you need to be relaxed.

Most people don’t need to be told this but please shower before your appointment. Also, eat well on the morning of your tattoo and do not drink alcohol or take recreational drugs. Don’t apply any lotions to the area and please leave the shaving to us!

Ladies! Tattooing and childbirth have proven that you are not the weaker sex! However, the time leading up to your period can for some be a tender time. It may be a good idea, if you’re a sensitive soul, to book in AFTER your menstrual cycle.

Please wear clothes that you aren’t too precious of, we do try to decorate only your skin but drips of ink do happen and there may be a little blood. Loose well worn clothing can also make the journey home more comfortable.

Please let us know of any medical condition and allergies or if you are using medication such as aspirin or warfarin, or if you are pregnant.

Basically, when you come for your tattoo, please don’t be late, drunk, tipsy, stoned, hungover, under 18, dog ate my ID, sunburnt, suntanned, tired, wired, or in any way that you wouldn’t expect us to be. Your appointment will be cancelled and you will lose your deposit. Please eat well in the morning and be prepared to turn off your mobile.

If this all sounds a bit strict please understand that we really do want to do the best possible tattoo for you. We can do all we can in using the finest equipment in the most hygienic environment but the condition of the canvas is down to you!

Thank you for your cooperation.
